ISML Male Tournament Last Day (UPDATE)

ISML had their Male Exhibition Tournament over the past month and it’s finally coming to and end tomorrow. Personally I am not very interested in who wins but I have been voting for some matches nonetheless. What intrigues me for their last day is not the Championship match but one of the exhibition match. Want to know who is against who? Read more!

Kinoshita Hideyoshi VS Lelouch Lamperouge

So its a Trap VS a Intelligent guy for the first ever ISML male tournament. Honestly the Finalist were not hard to predict since Hideyoshi have always kind of had some fan base throughout ISML history despite the fact he is a guy!  I wouldn’t be surprised if Hideyoshi can beat Laura Bodewig in Regular Season and some other female characters if allowed to participate. However this match will be different as it is obviously going to be Trap supporters against anti trap supporters and code geass lovers. To be honest Lelouch is a very compelling character especially if you watched the ending of Code Geass II which will explain his immense support in this tournament. In many ways he can be considered the male version of “Tachibana Kanade” in this male edition. Both also have the distinct privilege to represent their series well in ISML history with Baka not doing well at all, not making anyone past Prelims and  Code with only C.C as their sole representative who only fared quite well in the first year of ISML. So congrats to both contestants for making is this far and personally I do not know who to choose as both were great series and great characters in their own right, so I am kind off torn. I may abstain too.

My Pick: Abstaining

My Prediction: Lelouch Lamperouge

Homura Akemi VS Goko Ruri

Yes it’s an atrocious match up! How could ISML do this, making them clash before next year’s season. This will test the PMMM craze mettle and the strength of one of this year’s more stellar Top 16 whom managed to score an upset in Post Season itself. Most people are expecting PMMM to return with a big statement next year due to their reigns in KBM and AST and gradual fan craze that catch on with the world after the anime’s ending. However this will be their real test since those predictions, and what better to send their ace Homura to do so. I am not expecting lots of voters to vote for them since the ISML craze is dying down since the epic finals but it will gauge their strength nonetheless. I do not think PMMM can overthrow Kuroneko just yet especially after ISML 2011 finish but they stand a better chance next year. It will be enough if Homura can give Kuroneko a run for her money by securing say 45% of the votes. This will definitely show PMMM is ready to go next year. Good luck to both in what I think its a deserving match to be last of ISML 2011 schedule.

ÜPDATE: Slip my mind to update on this match and here’s the results. Lelouch won Hideyoshi for the “Lapis Scepter” as ISML put it and Ruri won Akemi as expected. The margin of win was however lower then expected and I am expecting Homura to lead the PMMM pack this time round in the Nova Division. Ruri will also be in the Nova Division with Kanade too. New rules for ISML 2012 so you guys may want to hop over to their site to read about it. Nova Division and Stella Division is the main change with Mikoto joining Stella for being ISML 2011 Winner but also the fact her series aired over 2 years ago. Until then! Start nominating by the way, starts tomorrow.
