Soaring Wings

Sanya soar past Sakuno while the Dragon Lord easily overpower the demon

BLOCK E ROUND THREE DAY ONE RESULTS

Sanya V. Litvyak (Strike Witches) – 285 Votes

Uryuu Sakuno (Mashiroiro Symphony) – 219 Votes

.

The last standing witch lived up to her expectations and soar past Sakuno to shut down her route to the Block Finals. Sanya will now have to face Yuu or Char for the QF honor and she will love to replicate fellow compatriot Erica’s run from last year for sure. For now she can take a well deserved rest and hope for an easier opponent of the two mentioned.

BLOCK F ROUND THREE RESULTS

Kuro Matsumi (Saki) – 361 Votes

Ririchiyo Shirakiin (Inu X Boku SS) – 232 Votes

.

Yet another overkill by a Saki heavyweight. Nowadays it seems if you can’t hit 300 votes you should not even think of winning a Saki. That being said Kuro is indeed one of Saki’s top tier contestant this year so I can’t blame Ririchiyo for losing by such a margin. This concludes this year’s Group of Death finally and Kuro triumph over 4, 3 which she defeated personally to reach the possibly most hard earned block finals spot ever. If SUBARA wins her match today Kuro will have to face YET another top prelimer to reach QF and given the amount of competition she had faced the, QF spot is really her’s to lose anyway. This makes a 4th straight Saki domination in their 4 days of appearance with their only attrition due to an inter series fight.

BLOCK E AND F ROUND THREE DAY TWO PREVIEW

Hohoho. Not only Saki continues to be represented but a Saki combo? Good luck to the opposition.

BLOCK C

Charlotte Dunois (Infinite Stratos) VS Yuu Matsumi (Saki)

Finally for Kuro’s elder sister to officially seal her spot for the Block Finals. Having soar past her opponents in vote counts and percentages, the odds are not stacked against Char, its HUGELY impossible to win at all for the IS ace. Just like last year where she had to face a invincible Sayaka from PMMM, her endeavors stops here by yet another strong faction this time. She did well to reach Round 3 again though but this will be as far as she goes. Like the caption goes the heat seeking missile will seek down and totally destroy the red comet. Now its a question of if Char can mitigate as much damage as possible from Yuu.

My Pick: Charlotte Dunois

My Prediction: Yuu Matsumi

BLOCK F

Yui Funami (Yuru Yuri) VS Kirame Hanada (Saki)

Another Saki-YuruYuri faction match this time at Round 3. The score goes for 1-0 to Saki after Shizu’s win over TOSHINO but well we all knew what happened to Shizu after that. This will be a preview for the epic Block B finals where Toki and Akari will see a clash of massive proportions.OK maybe not. In anycase Kirame is heavily favoured to win this after sailing pretty easy in the previous two rounds and this marks Satomi Arai best effort to date after Shirai Kuroko continuous failure to reach Round 3. Though its a faction match up Yui is not that strong to fight on par with SUBARA but perhaps faction turn up will put the match closer then one thought. Saki faction should be wary of snipes now especially what happened to Mihoko and Shizu but who knows complacency may kick in again. That is unlikely though since if Kirame win this, another confirmed QF slot is Saki’s to take.

My Pick: Kirame Hanada

My Prediction: Kirame Hanada

Its ironic to see the 3 players that face mahjong monster god Teru to all made it to Round 3 (and most probably Block Finals) while Teru herself was kicked out in Round 1. Looks like Teru isn’t as strong in Saimoe then in mahjong apparently =)
