Comet meltdown by Yuu while Kirame survives Yui’s challenge
BLOCK E ROUND THREE DAY TWO RESULTS
Matsumi Yuu (Saki) – 350 Votes
Charlotte Dunois (Infinite Stratos) – 197 Votes
Yuu won as expected and just like last year Charlotte cant get past Round 3 again. Hoki reached the furthest out of all IS girls but it was more of luck of draw then true strength to be honest. Yuu posted some fearsome vote totals again even when it is not needed against Charlotte and the Matsumi sisters are proving to be the contenders for the crown. If the finals were a Matsumi sisters final that will be funny and interesting to watch.
BLOCK F ROUND THREE DAY TWO RESULTS
Hanada Kirame (Saki) – 299 Votes
Funami Yui (Yuru Yuri) – 271 Votes
This match was however and intriguing one to watch. Both constantly taking the lead to only lose it and the cycle repeats throughout the day until the trademark end game Saki rush decided Kirame’s chances to reach Block Finals. This was surprising but I guess the anti Saki or the Yuru Yuri faction is not letting Saki take it all without a fight after all. This will make Toki-Akari match one to watch as both have the potential to win it all depending who emerge victorious. With SUBARA’s win, Saki has two confirmed quarterfinals slot proving numbers with strength is indeed useful in Saimoe.
ROUND 3 PREDICTION RECORD : 7 – 5
ROUND 3 PICK RECORD : 8 – 4
BLOCK G AND H ROUND THREE DAY ONE PREVIEW
Second last match day for Round Three. Nodoka and Sena should be happy since they both have a booby combo today =P!
Haramura Nodoka (Saki) VS Hitagi Senjougahara (Nisemonogatari)
Saki’s top ace Nodoka is up today against another ace of another series today. While maybe Nodoka may have been pushed out of the top ace position due to likes of Toki and Matsumi sisters but she still is a force to be reckon with within Saki and since Saki is the force to be reckon with in Saimoe she’s a pretty dangerous opponent. Hitagi will try to make it to block finals in order to be closer to her series hope to clinch a top 8 berth but its unlikely for her to topple the great online mahjong god Nodocchi.
My Pick: Haramura Nodoka
My Prediction: Haramura Nodoka
Akiyama Mio (K-On!) VS Kashiwazaki Sena (Boku Wa Tomodachi Ga Sukunai)
K-On! have seem to declined quite a bit from their heydays in 2009 and of course 2010. Nevertheless this year was a better performance from them without facing the round 1 shut out seen from last year. However their run should end here after Mio’s luck of draw seem to have finally run out and now faces one of the promising new faces of the tourny, Sena. Age should pull down K-On! chances and Sena will love nothing more to proceed to Block Finals especially after Kobato’s defeat in Block A. Sena should grab this win with ease and its finally time for K-On! to sing their last song before farewell from Saimoe.
My Pick: Akiyama Mio
My Prediction: Kashiwazaki Sena
One more match before Block Finals start to rumble. Block A and Block F would prove boring or uninteresting due to inter series matches and Block G to follow suit soon if Nodoka and Ako live up to their expectations. Only Block D and H has seen successful Saki resistance especially in D so far.
And once again sorry for the late post as my computer is currently down till Sunday hence I am using someone else’s computer to continue posting updates and insights. Tomorrow’s insight should be late too so just bear with it till Monday. Thanks!
