Sakimoe 2012

Hisa extinguished Shana’s flames to seal Sakimoe 2012

 Quarterfinals Round 4 Results

Shana (Shakugan No Shana) VS Takei Hisa (Saki)

シャナ (灼眼のシャナIII -Final-)  VS  竹井久(咲-Saki- 阿知賀編 episode of side-A)

1. Takei Hisa (Saki) – 328 Votes

2. Shana (Shakugan No Shana) – 289 Votes

Hisa seals in a record that will most likely stay for a long long time if not forever. With Hisa’s win, Saki is definitely one of Saimoe’s strongest faction with them achieving an all mono series Semi Finals. This would also mean Saki will finally have a Saimoe winner after such strong showing in 2009 and 2010. Hisa also reaches yet another personal best by reaching Semis which puts her on par with another Kiyosumi member, Nodoka herself. Shana did not even come close surprisingly, even Yayoi came closer. I guess non saki fans have largely given up any attempts at seeking revenge especially after Akarin’s fall in Block B. Once again congratulations to Saki for securing this record and a Saki Saimoe winner finally. 2012 is indeed Sakimoe.

With Saki’s new national arc being animated next year would we see another Sakimoe again? Next year will pit PMMM against Saki which would be really interesting as both factions are strong in their own right and right now these two are the two factions to look out for next year. KugiRie will lose 2 of their strongest entry from next year onwards due to eligibility issues and we may see a resurgent Hayate but that’s unlikely given how they have performed this year. Personally I think Sakimoe 2012 will put Saki in a disadvantage next year but we shall see. Afterall even Hisa whom lost in Round 2 twice mad it to Semis this time round so anything could happen.

Semi Finals Draws and Previews

園城寺怜 (咲-Saki- 阿知賀編 episode of side-A)  VS  原村和 (咲-Saki- 阿知賀編 episode of side-A)

Onjouji Toki (Saki) VS Haramura Nodoka (Saki)

松実玄 (咲-Saki- 阿知賀編 episode of side-A)  VS  竹井久(咲-Saki- 阿知賀編 episode of side-A)

Matsumi Kuro (Saki) VS Takei Hisa (Saki)

For the Semis we have Senriyama-Kiyosumi-Achiga to fight it out for a place in the finals. Who would have known Sakimoe 2012 will require a mahjong match to settle the winner for the year. Toki has been blazing through with 60% votes in her past 5 rounds and against Nodocchi here she should not have a problem since she even overcame Akarin. As for Nodoka this year have been yet another spectacular run as she reaches Semis once again but just like her previous two runs, her run should stop at Semis to make way for Toki to reach the finals. It would be a baton passing from the old ace to the new ace this time. There is still a chance Saki fans will push Nodoka forward though as she have missed the chance 2 times straight and her win over Ako may indicate so. Expecting low voter turnouts for Semis and Finals since its an all Saki affair after all.

As for Kuro-Hisa, Kuro will take this with ease after downing 5 first prelimers in successive fashion and our dear Bucchou will not be able to withstand it either. She had however redeem herself very well by reaching Semis, who would had known with Shizuno, TOSHINO KYOUKO and Kuuko in her group she would be able to even reach Block Finals not to say Quarters. She took advantage of the ever changing situation in Block C and made it whom many would thought will lose to Shana but today proved otherwise. Her run just like fellow Kiyosumi student will stop here and make way for the Achiga’s rising star.

So early congratulations for Saki which finally secure a winner and outdo PMMM’s stellar record from last year. Next year will pit these two against each other and honestly being a Saki fan I do not mind if Saki overpowers PMMM but for variety sake maybe one Sakimoe is more then enough. (Lets not forget about Raildex too, but honestly they had declined so so much in Saimoe)
